About Hanner Communications

How it started

Roy Hanner founded Hanner Communications in Bear Creek, North Carolina, in 2002. The goal was simple: give small organizations the kind of honest, affordable technology help that larger companies take for granted.

For many years that meant hands-on work: freelance IT support, custom database development, school management tools, and internet marketing for churches, nonprofits, and small businesses across central North Carolina.

What it became

Much of that work pointed to the same need, so it grew into products. In 2010, ChurchBooks3 launched to give churches accounting software built for how they actually operate. In 2026, Milestone Growth brought our small business marketing experience together into a single growth portal.

Today Hanner Communications focuses on those two companies. The individual IT and database services we once offered have been retired, and the people and experience behind them now go into ChurchBooks3 and Milestone Growth.
